Q&A with Beauty Vlogger Stephanie Ledda sml_x0

Her followers know her as SML_x0, I know her as Stephanie Ledda vlogger extraordinaire. Her YouTube channel is full of tutorials to create the hottest makeup looks and hairstyles. Ledda has quite the following which has led to her work with Maybelline, Style Haul, and Wet n' Wild. Yours truly had the privilege of talking with the makeup maven for a Fashion Minute exclusive Q & A.

 

 

 

You’ve definitely secured your title as a top beauty vlogger. What inspired you to pursue makeup and beauty?

 

I've always been a girly girl so it was easy for me to pursue something I'm so interested in. It all started when I was bored one day in my college dorm and I discovered the YouTube beauty community. I just had to be a part of it!

How do you decide the topics for your videos?

 

I usually ask my viewers what they'd like to see from me. Or I'll be inspired by something I saw online or in a magazine.

 

Working with Maybelline and Style Haul is every girl’s dream and a major accomplishment. How does it feel to know thousands of girls view your videos and make your tutorials a part of their everyday makeup routine?

 

It is SO rewarding. I am so lucky and blessed to be in the position I'm in. I'm very grateful and I always try to remain as humble as possible. I never want people to think I'm bragging or being showy. 

I’m sure you receive a ton of freebies to feature in your videos. What are some of your favorites you’ve received?

My favorites have been my SKR hair extensions. They are a must have in my opinion! Also, Michael Todd  organic skincare products. They can be pretty pricey!

Your hair always looks flawless in your videos. What are your go-to styling products?

 My must have is Moroccan oil right now. It makes my hair so shiny and soft. Also, I hardly ever wash my hair! That's my secret lol.  

I see so many girls who try to pull off makeup that isn’t suited for their skin tone. What’s a neutral look that compliments all skin tones?

Personally, I love to use my face powder as an eyeshadow color in my crease. That way you know it will blend well and match your skintones! I also love to use bronzers as eyeshadow as well. 

 

I must admit, I am always on the hunt for the lipstick shades you wear in your Instagram photos. What are your top 3 must-have shades for winter?

My top 3 would have to be: Wet N Wild Ferguson Crest Cabernet, Rimmel Bordeaux, and Wet n Wild Fergie Daily (an all year round fav!) 

 

I’m a fan of a bold eye, with dramatic lashes. Any tips on how to apply fake lashes and what brands are best?

 

I love LashBrat, Ardell and Such a Tease Lashes. Cut them to your eye shape/size and use tweezers to apply them :)

 

You’re not just talented with a makeup brush and curling iron. Your fashion sense is impeccable. Where do you look to for outfit inspirations?

I love Khloe Kardashian! Her style is amazing! And of course all the Instagram bloggers!

  

Any favorite winter fashion trends?

 I'm all about leather accents.. Oh and scarves! They accessorize any blah outfit. 

Lastly, I must know, what does a makeup maven like yourself have on her beauty wish list this Christmas?

I'm asking Santa for the Clarisonic Mia 2! Beautiful skin is key to beautiful makeup!
