Budget Friendly Mother's Day Gift

09 May 2014

Mother's Day is Sunday and I'm sure your momma is expecting something extra special, but you've had a super hectic week, been studying for finals, or haven't had a chance to go shopping and are still strapped for a gift. If you can splurge on overnight shipping or make it to the store, try these fabulous gifts for mom: Beads and Beaches Bracelet / Skinnygirl Margarita Shower Gel / Carla Vegan Satchel

Despite your financial situation, every girl wants to treat their mom like a queen and spoil her with gifts. I stumbled across a clear organizer at Marshall's and had the perfect idea for a Mother's Day gift that looks a lot more expensive than it really is! Naturally, I had to share it with you. And mom, if you're reading this, STOP NOW!

The best thing about this creative gift is you can customize it to your mom's preferences. For example, my mom doesn't wear too much makeup, but is big on nail care and moisturizers. I opted for mini nail files, nail buffers, and spring nail colors from Essie and Sally Hansen. To add some texture to the box, I placed some cotton balls at the bottom which I figured can be used on her nails.

The Super Booster Whitening Pen is from Whitening Lightening and the perfect size for mom to slip in her purse and use on the go in the car heading to mine or my sister's never ending events, sports games, etc.

If you remember the post I did on the new Kleenex designs by Issac Mizrahi, I featured the new slim packs. I had to throw one of them in because I think it's in the mom handbook that their purses must always contain tissues.

My mom once made a comment about the BaubleBar tassel necklace I wore, so being the sneaky devil I am, I ordered her one too. (It takes a daughter to pick up on the subtle hints a mom drops!)

Like I said, this gift can be as inexpensive or splurge-tastic (yes, I just invented that word) as you want it to be. The Dollar Trees located by me carry some great beauty products including E.L.F. and even Cover Girl. I mean for just $1, you can pick up stuff for you and mom. Or go to your local drugstore like Walgreens or CVS and look at the travel-size things to fill up your beauty box. Fill it with candy, sports memorabilia, jewelry, pictures, literally anything your mom likes. For added pizazz, finish with some fancy ribbon or a bow. It's the little things that count!

So if you still haven't gotten mom a gift and have a limited budget, this is something you can put together in no time. A mason jar, Tupperware container, or candy jar will work just as well as this case and are all available at the Dollar Tree (just look down the glassware isle).
