Houndstooth is a classic pattern that will never go out of style. A huge international trend, houndstooth debuted as a menswear print that Chanel made famous for women in the 60s. The traditional color is black and white, but recently designers have been introducing neon variations of the print. (Personally, I prefer the classic black and white.)
This chic print is really fun to accessorize, but if you've never worn it before, start out simple. I suggest starting small. Get a houndstooth scarf, headband or pair of pumps to get the feel of the print on you.
If you're looking to incorporate the pattern as the focal piece of your outfit, you can't go wrong with a blazer or dress. A blazer can go from day to night without any effort. A dress can transform into nightwear by adding a leather jacket.
In my shopping adventures, houndstooth prints are pretty affordable. I got this houndstooth cape from Make Me Chic for $32 (and of course I had a coupon code on top of that!) You can style this as outerwear or as a poncho. I prefer a poncho. Not only is this look ridiculously comfortable, but it looks so chic. What do you think?
