Trend Alert: Rompers & Jumpsuits

08 May 2015

A must-have in my spring/summer wardrobe is a cute romper and jumpsuit (or many cute rompers and jumpsuits!). The versatility of this fashion is endless.

When I'm going for a more casual look, I like to pair it with a denim jacket or cardigan. For a professional look, I add a blazer. And for a fun look when going out, depending on the occasion, I will leave my romper/jumpsuit as is or add a leather jacket for some edge.

I discovered the fashion site Romwe.com a few weeks ago and wanted to kick myself for not finding it sooner! Their fashions are ridiculously affordable and up-to-date with the current trends. If you're anything like me and like to have a new outfit for special occasions (or just have a fashion obsession!) then this site is a gift sent from above because you'll save so much money without having to sacrifice the frequency of your shopping.

Here are my top 6 picks of their new rompers and jumpsuits which are currently available through their website. What do you think?

Trend Alert: Kimonos

17 June 2014

One of my favorite spring/summer trends is the kimono. I feel like I'm channeling my inner geisha without getting stared at from people for looking like I'm wearing my Halloween costume a little early. A lot of the kimonos on the market now are modernized, meaning they don't look like the traditional oriental kimono that might come to mind. Florals, fringe, and fluorescents are amongst the top designs this trend has been seen in.

There are literally so many ways you can style a kimono.

1. Kimono + tank top and shorts
2. Kimono + blouse and skirt/skort
3. Kimono + boho dress
4. Kimono + blouse and jeans/capris
5. Kimono + swimsuit

I love to double my kimonos as swimsuit cover ups. It saves me money and provides me with tons of outfit options. This past weekend I took advantage of the gorgeous weather and got my tan on, but of course had to look fabulous doing so. Here's two new kimonos I just got and styled as cover ups.

Kimono: H&M (in stores only)

Leopard Print & Stripes

06 January 2014

Trend Alert! Mixing patterns is a tricky thing to do without looking like a hot mess. My latest success has been the leopard and stripes trend. As far as I'm concerned, leopard is a neutral in my closet and my view is slowly catching on with the rest of the fashion world.

Leopard print and stripes are two bold prints individually, so when worn together the look is on another level. TOTAL FIERCENESS. If you don't have confidence, I don't suggest mixing these prints because it takes a daredevil to pull it off.

I put together some looks ranging from those who want to dip their toe into this trend to those ready to cannonball into the deep end.

To try this trend out, go with minimal leopard print paired with bold stripes. Subtle pops of print like in the shoes and accessories is a good way to transition into more daring styles.

Classy & Sassy
Fun & Fierce

For the fashion conscious people ready to tread water with this trend, add more leopard and use stripes to accessorize the outfit. It's a twist on this increasingly popular look which will turn a lot of heads.

Sophisticated Punk

Looking to dive head first into a pool of leopard and stripes? Half and half is about as daring as you can go with finding a balance between the two prints.
