Give the Gift of Luscious Lips

08 December 2014

Give the gift luscious lips this holiday season! I decided to get myself this early Christmas gift just because I liked the color selection and the price was reasonable. But the quality of these lip glosses are amazing. The Royal Lip Lustre Creme Set from Lorac goes on smooth and lasts for the majority of the day.

Just the packaging of these glosses looks expensive. Valuing $90, they retail at Kohl's for $25 and if you use your Kohl's charge can save a minimum of 15%. This is a great gift to give that looks expensive, is a great quality, has an awesome value and costs you under $25!

Of course I had to model all the colors! Check out what each shade looks like when applied in my photos below.

Holiday Gifts for Every Girl on Your List

06 December 2014

The holidays are quickly approaching and my busy schedule doesn't leave much time for gift shopping. A majority of my friends and family are female and super picky when it comes to gifts. What's a girl to do?

I just opened an email from e.l.f. and it all clicked. Makeup and beauty products are the way to go! Not everyone I shop for is your typical girly girl who loves makeup, but those difficult women I have to shop for do use foundations and lip balms. And you know, I have college loans to pay off so this girl's budget is limited. So it was a blessing in disguise that I received the email from e.l.f. when I did!

Now this is my personal opinion of the brand - love it or hate it - everyone's entitled to their own opinion. I'm a firm believer that you get what you pay for, but not in this case. I only use e.l.f. makeup brushes, not because they're $1 - $3, but because they're fabulous. Concealer brushes, eye shadow brushes, blush brushes - I use them all.

Receive an 11 piece Brush Set for $3 with any $30 Purchase, Plus get a $10 Gift Card! Enter code BRUSHES at checkout. Offer valid 12/4 - 12/7/14.
Do I only us e.l.f. products? Not by any means. e.l.f. lip glosses are a regular beauty product I usually keep in my purse because they are long-lasting and the company has more colors options that suite my complexion. I'm also a fan of the baked eyeshadow collection. Why am I going to spend unnecessary money on more expensive brands that produce the same results? I don't generally use their foundations or concealers just because I have been using another brand for years and years and it works for my skin.

e.l.f. has a lot of holiday-friendly gifts to pick from that won't break the bank. Whether you just need something small as a stocking stuffer or a larger gift you can wrap, they have it all.

My hard to by for ladies - I suggest the e.l.f. Mineral Deluxe Natural Beauty Gift Set for women who don't really wear makeup. This set is awesome because they can actually wear makeup without looking like they have any on!

My personal favorite gift sets are the e.l.f. Essential Deluxe Starter Gift Set and e.l.f. Essential 14-Piece Nail Cube - Limited Edition Brights because they're not cheesy everyday makeup kits. You get way more value than you're actually paying for and become the top gift giver amongst your family and friends! Shop all my top gift picks from e.l.f. below!

Bright Eyes & Pouty Lips

02 October 2014

If you follow me on Instagram (@kellyrmoran), then you saw the photo I just uploaded of a new fall beauty look I tried. I've been on the hunt for a good blue eyeliner to make my brown eyes pop and I think I have finally found it.

The Revlon ColorStay Eyeliner in Sapphire seems like it'll be too much if you go by the sample scribble of blue on the label, but it really isn't. I either find blue liners that are too dark and look black or are too bright and look cartoonish. This liner was a perfect medium.

To really make my eyes pop, first I lined the upper and lower lid with the Maybelline Master Smoky Pen in Smoldering Violet. Purples and blues are highly recommended for brown eyes, so why not use both?! I think it helped to accentuate the blue.

For my lips, I have found the ultimate Kylie Jenner-ish color. 1995 by Gerard Cosmetics is matte, but creamy in texture. The mauve tone compliments lighter skin tones and really defines your lips. I'd like to try and find a similar color lip liner to pair this with. I don't really wear lip liner, but I think it would look awesome with this color. Plus I can always extend my lip line to create the illusion that I have fuller lips (like Kylie).

What do you think of this look?

Top Lipstick Colors of 2013

29 December 2013

They say diamonds are a girl's best friend, but what about lipstick? Hey, you can never have too many friends. Plus, lipstick is a lot more affordable than a diamond.

Lipstick can take your look to the next level or make you look like a total clown. Choosing the right color for your skin tone and making sure it works with your ensemble can be a real challenge. That's why I like to stick to neutral colors that compliment my skin tone and go with all my outfits. I don't mind spending the money on a good brand of my go-to lipstick color. If I'm trying to make a statement or experimenting with color, I tend to go for the cheaper brands like Wet n' Wild or NYC.

So with 2013 almost over, I thought I'd share my favorite lipsticks of the year with you.

I love this Kardashian neutral lip set. I'm not one for lip liner, but it really helps to define the lip and blend with the gloss. Definitely my #1 go-to lipstick.

This lipstick by L'Oreal Paris is a bit pricey ($9.99), but like I said before, I don't mind spending that on a neutral color that I get a lot of use out of. I bought this earlier in the year and it has been my BFF through all four seasons. I got great quality with this purchase.

Gotta love my $.99 NYC lipstick. I bought this color to try a new look and it has turned into one of my staples. In the warm months, it really compliments my tan. During the fall and winter, I like to wear this color with blacks and browns for a feminine touch.

The Kardashian's make my faves again. Don't let the name of this color fool you, it's neutral enough to wear well into the winter months. It doesn't show well in this photo, but the color is a mix of a soft pink and warm beige. I love this color because it's noticeable enough to give your lips some color, but not look gaudy.

I just got this for Christmas, but I am already going to this color as my staple. This rose colored gloss from Forever 21 has a matte finish which is a huge trend with nail polish. If it's good enough for nails, why not lips too?!

A timeless staple in every girl's makeup case should be a trusty tube of red lipstick. I have about 12 different red lipsticks, but Kate by Rimmel London is my favorite. It's a true red color that lasts all day long and goes on smooth.

This red looks a lot darker in person and for only $.99, I couldn't pass it up. I tend to use this red for special occasions or when I'm going out at night.

I have a pretty light skin tone so soft pinks suit me best. Another pricey lipstick by Rimmel London is well worth the money because of its smooth application, subtle color, and long lasting wear.

I saw this color on my favorite beauty vlogger, Stephanie Michelle Ledda, otherwise known as SML_x0 and had to have it. This pale pink has a subtle shimmer to it which I love to glam up my look.

So what should you be on the lookout for in 2014? These three colors are the top trends shown during Fashion Week by dozens of designers.
