Affordable Fall Beauty & Fashion Trends

03 October 2015

fall beauty and fashion trends

The weather may be wet and dreary but the temperature in Jersey is beautiful. Some may disagree that it is too cold, but it is indisputable that fall temperatures are here. And with the change in temperature comes a change in wardrobe, my favorite wardrobe to be exact....fall fashion!

The trends this year are something serious and I don't think there's enough days in the season to wear them all. What I'm trying to say is the trends this fall are so versatile and neutral that the combinations of outfits you can create is endless.

I'm sharing my favorite fall beauty and fashion trends for 2015 that are not only among the top trends for the season, but will not max out your credit cards or break the bank. Yes my friends, it is very possible to keep up with the changing fall fashion trends with affordable styles for the fashionista on any budget.

2015 fall color guideWith an endless fall color palette, earth tones and rich reds are always popular and a staple in my wardrobe. What are my go-to fall colors? Lots of earthy colors including burnt orange, dark green, beige, brown and mustard mixed with some deep hues of navy and burgundy and a splash of feminine pink, creams and mauve.

A majority of the fall styles below are from some of my favorite retailers that obviously carry way more trends than showcased in this post. Shop more of my favorite trends from these affordable retailers including:

Faux Fur is the Best Fur

06 November 2014

Tis the season for faux fur vests! I love how versatile they are. Dress up an outfit for a chic look or dress it down with some jeans and boots for a more casual look. I don't wear vests for warm by any means, so when people say they're freezing and throw on a vest I just laugh. Hello! There's no sleeves. That'll keep you warm! Vests are more of an accessory to me.

I just got this faux fur vest from BooHoo and could not be happier with the purchase. It fits perfectly, is super light weight so I don't feel too bulky in it, and goes with so many tops in my closet.

Like my look? Here are a few others of my favorite faux fur vests available this season from some of my favorite retailers. (All of which are super affordable!) What do you think?! (Remember my Fur-Real post from last year? Such a #tbt)

Fall Fashions from Shoot the Moon LA

19 September 2014

If you don't know about my obsession with Shoot the Moon LA, then now you do! As an  this avid shopper, I'm always looking for good quality products at a bargain price. I don't post a lot about is fabulous boutique because I'm a style rep for them. I was posting about their stylish and affordable apparel prior to having been given the opportunity. (But hey, having a 10% off code valid for everyone to use unlimited isn't too shabby either! KELLY10)

You can find identical things on many different online boutiques, but in my experience, Shoot the Moon has had the lowest costs. My girl Carrie responds quickly and efficiently to all e-mails whether they be about the actual product or sizing questions. She hasn't steer me wrong.

So I've been pretty darn busy lately with work which has really been cutting into my online shopping time (LOL!). I'm currently writing this post during my lunch break at this awesome seminar about social media at MGE in Florida and decided to take a break to catch up with my fashionistas. I just so happened to visit Shoot the Moon and literally gasped (yes, people stared at me) when I saw their new arrivals. OMG, I'll take one of everything Carrie! The sweaters, the jewelry, the hats, the dresses...so friggin' cute! I already know where I'd where some of them too.

Naturally, when I get excited about new arrivals, I have to share it with my fellow fashion lovers. Plus, remember you get 10% off.

Mad About Plaid

11 August 2014

Necklace (KELLY10 for 10% off) // Booties (similar)

Plaid is like leopard..neutral and always in style. I personally wear plaid year round. Plaid skirts in the summer and fall (of course I opt for lighter colors of plaid in the summer) and plaid tops and accessories during the winter.

When most people hear plaid, they think of button downs and overalls. That's not the case at all in the fashion world. Plaid has become quite chic and stylish over the past few years. But it's a tricky style to master. I say this because I've seen so many women try to go for an edgy look with plaid by incorporating too many bold pieces in their outfit. Don't overdo it. Let the plaid be the standout piece of your outfit. If the plaid in your ensemble is through clothing, steer clear of chunky accessories or statement shoes. That'll take your look from chic to freak.

My biggest pet peeve is too much of a good thing. What's that mean? Don't think you have to repeat a pattern in your entire outfit. Just because you have a plaid skirt on doesn't mean you should pair it with plaid pumps and a plaid headband. Tacky! Save those pumps and headband for different outfits. Then you'll be able to stretch your plaid addition for 3 separate outfits.

Seeing as fall is quickly approaching. Here's 4 different looks I put together with plaid as the focal print.

Summer to Fall: Transitional Outfit Ideas

04 August 2014

It drives me crazy how stores are already selling fall and winter fashion when it's 100 degrees outside. There are so many adorable looks for sale, which of course I end up buying, that sit in my closet taunting me until cooler weather comes. When I buy something, I can't wait to wear it. So how retailers sell for the seasons is absolute torture.

So how does one have their cake and eat it to? By mixing together fashion from different seasons. Pants with a tank top, blazers with shorts, skirts with sweaters...it all works. And it doesn't stop with just the style of clothing, colors apply too. Adding pops of crimson red add a fall touch to transitional outfits. Below are some of my favorite outfits I pieced together with all pieces currently for sale. (pssst look for the coupon codes underneath to save on each look!)
