Fashion Police: Miley Cyrus Edition

26 August 2013

Miley Cyrus, you have the right to keep that tongue in your mouth. Any more twerking can and will be used against you in a court of fashion. You have the right to a stylist to find you proper fitting clothing and remove those beehives from your head. Should you not heed this advice, be prepared to bear the comments from your once devoted fans who describe your new style as "slutty," "desperate," "trying too hard," and "skanky."
This former Disney star needs to be locked up for indecent exposure. Miley Cyrus has quite the following, especially of tweens who grew up with her in the role of Hannah Montana. What kind of message is she sending to girls? I'll tell you, not a very good one. You don't need to be in front of thousands of people half naked, performing provocative moves to be noticed.

From a fashion aspect, Miley needs to fire her stylist IMMEDIATELY. She should probably even file a lawsuit against her for her horrendous outfit choices. First off, that hairstyle only worked for Gwen Stefani circa 1998. The short doo was growing on me, but when you style it like you have horns coming out of your head I'm just reminded why I hated it in the first place.

Remember the movie, "The Mask," with Jim Carrey. Miley's red carpet ensemble looked like it came from the scene where The Mask is performing chick-chicky-boom with the cops. Definitely not age or venue appropriate. It's an award show, not a Halloween contest.

How about her performance?! There was so much hype about her live performance and Miley definitely took advantage of the publicity. Girl, keep that tongue in your mouth. You might trip and bite it off doing all that twerking. Now, I get that you want to beak away from the Disney image that made you famous in the first place, but how is dressing and dancing with teddy bears helping you to do that? Her performance was like a Disney show on acid.

Ok, so that was PG compared to her on-stage outfit change. Reminiscent of Britney Spears' performance in the nude top and bottoms, Miley took it a step further and went for basically a bra and panties. However, the panties were so tight and short; it squeezed her non-existent butt making for an unpleasant sight. That had to be really uncomfortable to perform in. The sexual dance moves and constant grabbing of her crotch really flaunted the sluttiness of her "outfit," if you can even call it an outfit. If I were Robin Thicke's wife, I would have pulled a Kanye and jumped on stage to pry the little hoochie's booty off my husband.

Was this a publicity stunt? Most likely, I mean people are still talking about Miley's outrageous behavior and style. Seems to me like any publicity is good publicity in Miley's eyes. Let's see if she will follow in the footsteps of her fellow starlets like Britney Spears (mental meltdown resulting in barefoot bathroom stops and freshly shaved head), Paris Hilton (queen of slinky outfits, crotch-flashing, drunken binges. and ditsy moments), Lindsay Lohan (fire-crotch, alcoholic, pill popping jail bird), and Amanda Bynes (bathroom selfie, half shaved head, wannabe playmate).

Must Have Mints

29 January 2013

Hello fashionistas! What do you think of the new layout?

So much to talk about...where to begin...how about with the refreshing return of the color mint to this spring's style. I give this trend two thumbs up. This color looks fabulous on just about any skin tone. Add a little tan into the mix and VA VA VOOM! Here's some of my personal favorite styles out there now...because as we all know, the fashion world doesn't exactly coincide with the seasons.
