What I Wore: Sweater Dress & Riding Boots

The best time to wear a striped sweater, is all the time! One with a collar, turtle neck..that's the kind! Name that show! ............. lol who remembers that from SpongeBob? Yes, I said SpongeBob.

Anyway, can you guess the theme of this post? I recently got this striped sweater dress from Old Navy. Not only did I get a lot of compliments on it, but it was so comfortable. This dress is the equivalent of bumming it around in sweatpants, except super cute!

The boots were an early birthday present from mommadukes. If you read my post on wide calf boots then you're familiar with my struggle to find boots to fit my not even wide calves! Well these boots are in fact NOT wide calf and fit perfectly. They have some stretch to them and dexflex comfort soles. (highly recommend these!)

My bracelet is from Kohl's and I get so many compliments every time I wear it. It's a timeless classic and was under $15! (plus you know Kohl's always has a sale going on)

Fashion Bloggers Unite: Favorite Fall Sweaters

 

Welcome to the first of many monthly fashion blogger collaborations! This month's post is all about sweaters which seems fitting because sweater weather is definitely here. Here are some of your favorite fashion bloggers sharing their favorite fall sweaters and styling tips!

I love a good quality chunky sweater. This turtleneck sweater is from Victoria's Secret and probably one of the most comfortable sweaters I've ever worn. A good pair of jeans and riding boots is my go-to style for this sweaters. I have dressed this sweater up with a cute skater skirt, tights, and pumps, but prefer to go more casual with this style. The intricate designs on the shoulder add a feminine touch which in my opinion dress up my casual look. Add a slouchy beanie or decorative headband and you're looking effortless chic without sacrificing  your comfort!

Put me in a cashmere sweater, a fun scarf, and great pair of booties and I am ready! It’s easy to get that effortless style when you throw on your favorite cozy sweater and a classic pair of denim. This particular sweater appeals to me because of its long layered design in the front and its shorter appearance in the back making it easy to layer. I love the corresponding colours within the sweater because they are perfect for fall and can be paired with a multitude of different pieces such as different types of pants (leggings, jeans, jeggings) along with a variety of shoes. The burgundy colour in the sweater is a trendy way of wearing the popular crimson colour without over doing it. I liked to style it a bit fancier in this particular post (listed below) because the sweater in itself is a bit more casual so I wanted to showcase its versatility when paired with leather leggings, booties and a black fedora. I think this sweater can be styled in a variety of ways and is perfect for the fall season as its warm and extremely comfortable, but doesn't sacrifice style.

Lyrik Fryer

Now that it is absolutely freezing in Seattle I had to go out and find the perfect oversized sweater. This green one from Aritzia is so soft and warm I couldn’t resist. You’re definitely going to see more of these leather leggings on Lush + Luxe since they’ve become a major staple piece in my wardrobe. You can throw them under just about anything to make for a chic fall or winter outfit.

This owl sweater is my absolute favorite! On my blog, I have styled it at least twice but in person, I've worn it about twice a month. I love that it has an owl on it, but I also love how versatile it is. This sweater is easily made casual or dressy with a few little changes and it's so comfortable! Now that it's getting cooler out again, I'm starting to break out this perfectly cozy owl sweater more and more. (Shop similar sweater)

Nobella Grace's Brooklynn cardigan is absolutely stunning! Super soft and great quality that you can feel in the fabric! It has vibrant colors of red, charcoal, black, and white. The print pops against the black and is perfect for the upcoming holidays to help keep you warm. The print is a mix between damask and Aztec, two of my favorite patterns, that make it very unique. Styling this cardigan was SO easy. It goes with red, charcoal, black, or denim jeans. I chose red to create an outfit that's sure to stand out. Black motorcycle boots, a black basic tank, and a pendant necklace in gold were the perfect additions to complete the look. I definitely wanted the cardigan to be the star of the show!

My Must Have Wardrobe Staples - Love & Leather

 All I need in life is some love and leather and this Prime Time Hearts sweater and Faux Leather Skater skirt come pretty darn close. This outfit mixes the best of both worlds -- a comfy fall sweater with a sexy summer skirt. (I mean, if it was really cold you could add some black tights under the skirt.) With the right, neutral skirt you can ultimately pair any sweater with it.

I just got my Prime Time Hearts sweater in the mail from Shoot the Moon and couldn't wait to wear it. It's lightweight enough not to feel bulky in, but warm enough to last you through winter. Whenever I'm pairing a sweater with a skirt, I prefer to wear it tucked in. Because of my curvy shape, it better suits my body to have the skirt define my waistline. I'm definitely not against wearing sweaters untucked - hey if you can pull it off, more power to you - but it just makes me look frumpy.

To really up this look, I'd add a fuzzy faux fur vest and floppy black hat.
